Our organization was established to address the growing need for comprehensive support systems for nurses and healthcare professionals in our region, while simultaneously improving health outcomes for underserved populations in our community.
Our Founding Vision
The founding members of NURSES NOOK recognized that nurses often face significant challenges in their professional lives, including limited access to continuing education, lack of mentorship opportunities, and insufficient resources to maintain work-life balance. Additionally, many communities in rural Wisconsin lack adequate access to preventive healthcare services and health education.
Driven by these observations, NURSES NOOK was created to serve as a central hub for nursing support and community health initiatives. We believe that investing in nurses is investing in community health, and that every healthcare professional deserves the tools, resources, and support necessary to thrive in their career.

Burnout rates among nurses have reached alarming levels. Many experienced nurses are leaving the profession, while new graduates struggle to find adequate support as they enter the workforce.
In Wisconsin, these challenges are particularly acute in rural areas like Oconto County, where healthcare facilities often operate with limited staff and resources. Nurses in these settings frequently work long hours with insufficient support, leading to burnout and turnover that further strains the healthcare system.
NURSES NOOK was created to address these challenges head-on. By providing continuing education, we help nurses stay current with best practices and advance their careers. Through mentorship, we support new nurses during the critical early years of their careers.
